leaving-startup

At the beginning of last year I helped create a startup in the social media space.  I was the CMO/founder and I handled everything from community creation to product design.  I stuck with it for about a year and turned down many opportunities and chances for collaboration.  I just didn’t have the time or the resources to take on any more projects.  Toward the end of last year I decided that I can’t miss out on anymore opportunities.  I made a personal decision to leave the startup on Jan 1st of 2009.  I would have made this announcement weeks ago but my “consulting” tab wasn’t working so I wasn’t able to talk about my services.

So what does this mean?  Well I am going to focus my efforts on offering two services, social media and SEO consulting.  I still run my team of technical SEOs over at Hirank.com and we have been extremely busy there, which is a good thing.  I’m also now officially offering social media consulting (I’ve been consulting for a few people but never mentioned consulting services) to clients that are interested.  If you want to know more about what I’m offering then check out my social media and SEO consulting page.

So that’s pretty much it.  If you’re interested in working with me on either social media or SEO, just let me know.  I am now free to explore new opportunities, projects, and collaborations.  I’m very excited to see what 2009 will bring.  I have already received several requests for social media and SEO projects and I’m looking forward to spending more time on new ventures.  I’m also going to make a more conscientious effort on maintaining a physical presence.  Working at a startup is fun but I’ve had my head down for quite a while.  I didn’t attend many conferences and/or events, but that’s going to change.

If you or any of your contacts/clients are looking for social media or SEO consulting, then you know where to come from now on 🙂  If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

thanks everyone and I’m looking forward to working together!
