I just came back from Lake Tahoe where I tried to relax and take my mind off of work. I actually did spend some time reading though, and wanted to share a few useful tidbits of information that I have found while poking around on the web. Let’s get to it.

This is a great post from Read Write Web on a few useful tools out there for anyone who is looking to learn a language online. There are some great free tools listed, as well as a few paid ones. I am actually in the midst of teaching myself Chinese (Mandarin) and found this post very useful, check it out.
Make Your Linkedin Profile Work for You
Chris Brogan does a good job of explaining how you can use your linkedin profile to it’s fullest potential. I am huge fan of linkedin and use it daily. I have made so many valuable connections and have met a lot of great people. The problem is that many people don’t really understand how they can use linkedin to market themselves. I actually wrote a similar post not too long ago here.
The Promise and Peril of Ubiquitous Community
Steve Rubel talks about the future of social networking and online communities and explores how ubiquitous communities are going to affect marketers. My favorite quote from his article is “participation is no longer optional.” Very true Steve. I also wrote something similar as a guest post for Pandemic Labs Marketing not too long ago entitled “The Verticalization of Social Media and the two-sided Trick Coin.”
I think I will leave it at three for now, just so I don’t overwhelm anyone with a massive list. I need to get better at using delicious (working on it).
