Every time I take a trip or do something that doesn’t seem like it’s a part of “work” someone asks me if I did it for business or pleasure. I realize that most people make a distinction between the two and that’s probably because most people don’t get pleasure from their business. Truth be told I get pleasure from doing business. I love what I do and I love people so for me business is pleasure. I know a lot of people end up doing jobs that they aren’t too fond of and that’s unfortunate. I think the only way to do business is to make sure you get pleasure out of it. Oftentimes when I work I don’t really consider it working because I actually enjoy what I’m doing. When I get off of a conference call with a prospective client I feel like I just made a new friend, that’s not work; that’s netWORKing.
I encourage everyone to find something they love to do…and do it! Then the next time someone asks you if you are doing something for business or pleasure you will say both.
